AgriTech Expo Zambia 2023, held from April 20 to April 22, was an annual event that brought together more than 18,500 farming professionals and 180 exhibitors from local and international suppliers of agricultural products and services. The event, which took place at the GART Research Centre in Chisamba, Zambia, provided a platform for the farming community to learn about new and innovative solutions to boost their yields and increase profitability in a way that creates sustainable value while also contributing to Zambia’s food security.
Syngenta Zambia, a global agriculture company that provides crop solutions and innovative technologies, was one of the platinum sponsors of the event. With the theme “Transforming growers’ productivity sustainably through regenerative agriculture, innovative solutions while partnering for impact,” Syngenta showcased new and improved solutions aimed at transforming farmer yields at scale and increasing their profitability in a sustainable manner.
The live crop trials were one of the main attractions of the expo, where visitors could view and compare yields on 28 live crop trials and talk to expert agronomists. The live crop trials showcased different varieties of crops such as maize, soybean, wheat, sunflower, sorghum, millet, and legumes. The trials also demonstrated the effects of different inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and irrigation on crop performance and quality. Exhibitors such as Syngenta, Afriseed, Agrinovo, and others provided technical advice and solutions to the farmers.
In addition to the live crop trials, the Agritech 2023 in Zambia featured technical and practical workshops, business lounges, and various industry feature zones. The event was a business-to-business buying platform for agricultural professionals of all scales and a marketplace for industry innovations. The workshops provided attendees with opportunities to learn about topics such as soil management, crop protection, and marketing strategies for agricultural products.
